Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus, we are going to be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Stretch, a fork mount roof bike rack, part number RKY1011. With the Yakima Q Towers roof rack system already installed on our Taurus, we're going to begin our test fit by placing the bike rack directly onto our cross bars. Here at the front we'll bring the black rubber coated metal straps around the underside of our bar. We'll then remove the black plastic cover. We can take our straps, fit them into the appropriate slots. Then, use our Allen key to tighten our Allen bolt. more

Kuat TRIO Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Taurus

Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Trio, a Fork Mount Roof Bike Rack with part number RU01. With our Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack system already installed on the Taurus we're going to begin our test fit by placing the Trio directly onto our crossbars. At the front we'll bring the black rubber-coated metal U bolt around the underside of our bar, through the head of the carrier and we'll secure it in place using two cylinder nuts. We'll repeat this same process for the other side of the front. Then we can take our provided tool and tighten all four of our cylinder nuts down. We'll move to the rear where we're going to remove one of our wing nuts. We'll bring our clamp around our bar, being sure that one of our bolts is coming down on both sides. We'll reinsert the bolt through the lower half of our clamp, put on our wing nut and then we'll tighten down both wing nuts to secure it. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Explorer we're going to be test fitting the Thule Sprint, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number TH528. With our Thule Rapid Crossroads Roof Rack System already installed on the Explorer, we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. As we do this we'll want to bring our black rubber coated metal straps around the underside of our load bars. This will position our foot packs directly on top of them. Here at the front we're going to fit the strap into the foot of the carrier and tighten it using the black lever. With the front secure we'll move to the rear and we can repeat that same tightening process. With our rack secure we're ready to load up our bike. more

Thule Big Mouth Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ford Explorer

Today on our 2014 Ford Explorer we're going to be test fitting the Thule Big Mouth, a frame clamp roof Bike Rack with Part number TH599XTR with our Thule Roof Rack System already installed on the Explorer. We'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly on to our load bars. Here at the front we'll remove both of the T-bolts from the lower portion of our clamp, bring both clamps under the underside of our bar, then we'll reinsert the T-bolts and tighten both wing nuts to secure both clamps around our load bar. With the front secure we'll move to the rear. Here we will loosen both wing nuts and remove one completely. We'll then position the clamp so that one bolt will come down on both sides of our load bar, replace the metal flat portion, put the bolt back through the metal flat portion and secure it by tightening down both wing nuts. With our rack secure we're ready to load up our bike. We'll first want to undo our wheel straps and make sure that our center frame clamp is open. more

With our Thule rapid crossroad roof rack system already installed on the Explorer, well begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto the load bars. Here at the front, were going to bring two of the silver U-bolts around the underside of our load bar, fit it up to the head of our carrier, and thread two wing nuts onto each one.After tightening down all four wing nuts, well have the front of our rack secure. We can now move to the rear load bar. Here were going to bring one of the U-bolts down through the rack, being sure the threaded portion comes out on both sides. Well then place on our black metal plate and thread two wing nuts onto our U-bolt to hold the plate in place. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Explorer, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Fork Mount Roof Bike Rack, part # S64710. With our Thule Rapid Crossroads Roof Rack System already installed on the Explorer, we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, we're going to bring 2 of the silver U-bolts around the underside of our load bar, fit them up through the head of our carrier, and thread 2 wing nuts onto each one. With all 4 of our wing nuts started, we'll go ahead and tighten them all down. This will secure the front of our bike rack to our roof rack. We'll now move to the rear. Here, we're going to place 1 U-bolt down through the rack, being sure that the threaded portion comes out on both sides of the load bar. We'll then place on the flat black metal plate and thread 2 wing nuts on to hold this place. more

Speaker: Today on our 2014 Ford Explorer, were going to be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Stretch, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number RKY1011. With our Thule Rapid Crossroads Roof Rack System already installed on the Explorer, were going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, well bring the two black rubber coated metal straps around the underside of our load bar as we do so. Well then remove the black plastic cover, fit those straps back into the head of our carrier and tighten down the Allen bolt located on the front with an Allen key to secure it. With our straps tight, well now replace our black plastic cover and move to the rear clamp. Here, well remove one of the Allen bolts completely and loosen the other. Well bring the black plastic portion of the clamp around the underside of our load bar, reinsert the Allen bolt and thread it in. Well then take an Allen key and tighten both of our bolts down. With our front and rear secure, lets take a look at the rear hatch to see what kind of access we have. more

Here, we're going to loosen both wing nuts and remove one completely. We'll then position the clamp so we have one bolt in front of our load bar and one bolt behind it. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Taurus we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down. This is a fork mount roof bike rack. Part #S64710. We've got the Rhino Rack Vortex Arrow Roof Rack System already installed on the Taurus. We're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly up on to our crossbars. Here at the front, we'll take one of the U-bolts, bring it around the underside of our crossbar and fit it up through the head of our carrier. We'll then take two of the wing nuts and thread them on just to hold that in place. The other side in the front we've got a second U-bolt, we're going to do the same as we did on the other side. Bring it around the underside of our bar and we adjust them so we've got both of our U-bolts in the same spot. more

Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ford Expedition

Today on our 2014 Ford Expedition. We're going to be test fitting the Yakima front loader, wheel mount bike rack part number Y02103. Their factory crossbars installed on the Expedition, we're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. At the front we'll be sure that the arms of our clamp are on the front and back of our crossbar. Then we can secure this by tightening the black T handle. Once we have that secured, we'll move to the rear, we'll need to lift the larger front wheel hook to access our black T handle located here. We'll loosen the black T handle, take the T-bolt out of the lower part of the clamp, bring the clamp around our bar, replace our T-bolt and tighten it down with a T handle. We'll now undo our rear wheel strap, grab our bike, place our bike into the front wheel cradle, rolling it forward gently to lift the rear part of the clamp. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Expedition, were going to be test fitting the Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number Y02098. With our factory crossbars on our Expedition, well begin the test fit by placing the rack directly on to our bars. Well then remove our front securer, slide back the black cover and remover the T-bolt from the lower part of our clamp. This will allow us to bring it around our crossbar. Well then reinsert the T-bolt through the appropriate slot, and tighten it down using the black T-handle. Well now slide our black plastic cover forward, and replace our front wheel securer. At the rear, well loosen the T-handle, remove the T-bolt from the slot, bring our clamp around our bars, reinsert the T-bolt into the appropriate slot, and tighten it down with the black T-handle. more

We'll then bring the black metal plate up against the bottom of our crossbar with each side of the U-bolt going through it and then we will secure this using two wing nuts as well. Their bike rack secure to our vehicle, it's time to load our bike. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Expedition. We're going to be test fitting the Swagman fork down roof mounted bike rack. Part number FX6710. With the factory roof rack on our vehicle, we're going to begin our test fit by placing the bike rack directly onto our load bars. We'll bring the two U bolts around the underside of our load bars. We'll fit them through the appropriate holes in the head of carrier and tighten them down using wing knots. Once all four of our wing knots in the front are tighten and moved to the rear, This time we're going to place our U bolt down through the rack, we'll be sure that it goes on both sides of our load bar, we'll then place our black plate on our ubolt and secure this in place using two wing knots. more

We can then use an Allen key to tighten the Allen bolt, securing the straps around our load bar. With these tight, we'll move to the rear where we'll remove one of the bolts in the clamp. We'll then slide the clamp around our load bar, re-insert the bolt and tighten both bolts down with an Allen wrench. more

With our rack secured to our load bars, its now time to load our bike. more

Well use the provide Allen key to tighten these down.Well then move to the rear clamp where we will remove one of the wing nuts, bring one bolt down on each side of our rear crossbar, then replace the lower part of the clamp and the wing nut. We can then tighten this down to secure it to our rack. more

RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2012 Ford Escape

Today on our 2012 Ford Escape, we'll be test fitting the Rockymount Tierod Stretch Roof Mounted Bike Rack. Part number RKY1011. With our Thule Rapid Crossroads Rock System already in place, we'll start by putting our bike rack onto the rack. You want to make sure that your 2 rubber T straps go around the front bar. Once around the front bar, you can put them into place. Next you'll move your rear bracket forward, loosen it up and make sure it mounts around the rear bar. Next you'll tighten up the front allenscrew to the front bar just to secure the rubber straps in place, then you'll tighten up your allenscrew at the rear bracket. Now that the rack is in place, make sure your front skewer is open and your rear strap is undone. Next, we'll grab out bike, place it on the rack making sure the forks are secure in the skewer first. You can then move to the rear and tighten down your rear strap. Now your bike's in place and you're good to go. And that will complete today's test fit of the Rockymount Tierod Stretch Roof Mounted Bike Rack. Part number RKY1011 on our 2012 Ford Escape. more

We then tighten all 4 of them down. With our front secure, well move to the rear. This time, were going to place the U bolt through the rack, being sure that it comes out on both sides of our crossbar. Well bring the metal plate up to the U bolt, being sure that both sides of the U bolt go through it. more

With our Yakima Rail Grab Roof Rack System already on the Escape, were going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at our front crossbar, well place our clamp down around our bar. Well have the two outside legs on the front, and the one middle leg at the rear. We can then tighten the black T-handle here, to secure it to our rack. With the front secure, well move to the rear. Here were going to loosen the black T-handle, remove the T-bolt from the clamp, bring the lower-jaw of our clamp around the underside of our crossbar, reinsert our T-bolt through the slot, and tighten it down with the black T-handle. With our rack secured to our vehicle, its now time to load our bike. more

Here at the front, were going to remove the securer, slide back the black plastic cover, and loosen our black T-handle. Well then remove the T-bolt from the lower half of our clamp, and bring it around our crossbar, reinsert our T-bolt to the appropriate slot, then well tighten it down with the black T-handle. Well then slide our black cover forward, reinserting the securer, then we can move to the rear. Here were going to loosen the black T-handle, remove the T-bolt from the slot, bring our clamp around our crossbar, reinsert our T-bolt and tighten it down with the black T-handle. With our rack secured, its time to load up our bike. more

Today on our 2012 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. With the Thule rapid crossroads rack system already in place, well grab our bike rack and place it on to our roof rack. Line up the head of the bike rack with the front bar. Youll then take a U-bolt, place it through the front of the head, and secure it with two wing nuts at the top. Be sure not to tighten them down all the way because you want it a little bit loose to tighten up the rear. Youll want to repeat this process with another U-bolt on the other side of the front head. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Escape we'll be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, Part #S64710. With the Thule Rapid Reverse Roof Rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front platform we'll take a u-bolt and bring it around on the underside of our front load bar. We'll fit the bolts up through the front platform and we'll secure it by tightening down two wing nuts. We're going to move to the other side of our front platform and repeat this process. Here at the rear we'll drop our u-bolt through the top of our bike rack making sure that we have a bolt on each side of our rear load bar. Then we'll install our black metal clamp making sure that the bolts go through our clamp. And we'll secure it by installing two wing nuts. With the front and rear secure, we can go ahead and undo the rear wheel strap and make sure our skewer at the front is loose. We'll grab our bike and place it onto our bike rack dropping our front forks down onto our skewer. We'll secure the bike first by tightening our skewer, and then move to the rear and tighten with the wheel strap. With our bike all loaded up, that'll complete today's test fit of the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, Part #S64710 on our 2014 Ford Escape. . more

Here at the front, well bring our straps around our bar and remove our black plastic cover. Well fit the straps back into the head of the carrier and use an allen key to tighten our allen bolt which will secure our straps around our front bar. Today on our 2014 Ford Escape we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Rack , Part #RKY1014. With the Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack system on our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front we'll remove our black plastic cover and bring our straps around our front bar, fitting them back into the head of the carrier. We'll then use an Allen key to tighten our Allen bolt which will tighten our straps around our front bar. Once we have those secured, we can replace our black plastic cover. At the rear we'll loosen up one of our Allen bolts to bring our real clamp around or rear bar. We'll drop the Allen bolt back through and use an Allen key to tighten both bolts down. With the front and rear secure, we'll undo our rear wheel strap and make sure our skewer at the front is loose. We'll grab our bike and place it onto our bike rack dropping our front forks down onto our skewer. We'll secure the bike first by tightening our skewer and then move to the rear and tighten with a wheel strap. With our bike all loaded up, that will complete today's test fit of the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Rack, Part #RKY1014 on our 2014 Ford Escape. . more

Today on our 2014 Ford Escape we'll be test fitting the Thule Bigmouth Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number TH599XTR. With the Thule Crossroads Roof Rack system on our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our roof rack system. Here at the front platform we'll bring our T-slots around our bar and fit our T-bolts through the appropriate slots, and using the wing nuts on top of our platform to secure them around our bar. Once we have both of those tight at the front we'll then move to the rear. We'll loosen up one of the wing nuts so we can bring our rear clamping device around our rear bar. We'll make sure that we have one bolt sitting on each side of our rear load bar. more

We can then repeat this process for the other side of the front platform. Here at the rear we'll bring our bolts around the rear bar, place our clamp through the bolts, and secure it by tightening down the wingnuts. more

Today on our 2010 Ford F-150, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Rooftop Bike Rack, Part Number S64720. With a Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the Swagman Bike Rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front platform, we'll bring our U-bolt around the underside of the load bar, feeding it back up through the holes in the platform, and securing it by tightening down two wing nuts. Once we have that tight, we can repeat that process for the other side of the front platform. Here at the rear, we'll drop our U-bolt through the top of the bike rack, down through the holes, making sure it goes around the rear load bar. We'll then install the black metal bracket and secure it by tightening down the wing nuts. With the front and rear secure, we'll go ahead and make sure that our frame jaws are open and that our front and rear wheel straps are undone. We'll grab our bike and place it onto our bike rack. more

Today on our 2010 Ford F150, we'll be testing fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. With the Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the Swagman Bike Rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front platform, we'll bring our U bolts around the underside of our load bar feeding them up through the platform and securing it by tightening down the wing nuts. We'll do this for both sides of the front platform. Withthe front secure, we'll move to the rear and drop our U bolt through the top of thebike rack through the holes. We want to make sure that the U bolt goes around the load bar and then we can place our clampthrough the bolts and then we can feed our bolts through the bracket securing it by tightening down the wing nuts. We'llgo ahead and undo the rear wheel strap and make sure the skewer at the front is loose. We'll grab our bike and place it onto our bike rack. more

With the Thule Rapid Traverse roof-rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the tierod directly onto our load bars. We'll rid plastic cover and fit the straps into the head of the carrier. We can then use an Allen key to tighten the Allen bolt which will tighten our straps around our front bar. With that tight we can replace the black plastic cover and make sure our skewer is open for when we're ready to load our bike. Here at the rear we'll bring our rear clamp around our rear bar, drop the bolt back through and secure it by tightening down on the Allen bolts. With the front and rear secure we'll go ahead and undo the rear wheel strap. We'll grab our bike and place it onto our bike rack dropping our front forks down onto our skewer. We'll secure the bike first by tightening our skewer and then move to the rear and tighten with the wheel strap. With our bike all loaded up we're ready to go. That completes today's test fit for the Rockymounts Tierod roof-mounted bike rock, part number RKY1014 on our 2010 Ford F150. . more

We'll then use the included Allen key to turn the silver bolt to bring the straps up around tightly against the bar. With this done, we'll replace the black plastic cover and move to the rear. more

Today on our 2010 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. Well begin our test fit by placing the bike rack on to the vehicles crossbars. Well bring out our hardware and take the silver brackets around the underside of the front crossbar up to the predrilled holes of the front part of the bike rack and thread in our black wing nuts to secure the front part of the carrier to the front crossbar. Well then move to the rear with this time well take the silver bracket to slide down through the predrilled holes into the bike rack and bring the black plate on the underside of the rear crossbar and thread in our wing nuts to tighten down the rear part of the bike rack to the rear part of the crossbar.With everything all tighten down and secured, were ready to load up our bike. Well double check to make sure the securer is loose at the front and well undo the strap of the rear. Well place our bike on to the bike rack, slide in the forks down on to the securer. more

Today on our 2008 Ford Escape, will be test fitting the Thule Domestique fork mounted bike carrier part number TH513. With our Thule Arrow Blade roof rack system assembled onto our vehicle will begin our test fit by placing our Domestique directly onto our load bars. For easier installation I went ahead and removed the front skewer and loosened up the front and rear brackets will bring are from bracket around our front load bar fit the bulb through and tighten with an Allen key. Then we'll go to the rear making sure our carrier is in line and bring our rear bracket around our rear bar. We'll fit the bolt through our rear bracket and tighten the two Allen bolts with our Allen key. With our bike carrier tighten secured will go ahead and install our skewer at the front leaving it loose, move to the rear and undo our rear wheel strap. more

With that bracket tight, were now able to load up our bike. We just need to undo our rear wheel strap and make sure that the skewer at the front is loose. more

We'll drop out T bolt through the appropriate slot on our clamp, and use the T handle on top of our carrier to tighten it down. more

Well two of the larger U-bolts and place them up through our bracket, making sure that each U-bolt goes around the underside of our load bar. With the bolt in through the bracket, well secure it by tightening down some wing nuts. Well do this for both sides of our bracket.Then well move to the rear and drop our U-bolt in from the top of the carrier, making sure it goes around our rear load bar and then well take our black bracket, fit it through the U-bolt and up against the underside of our rear load bar. Well tighten our U-bolts securing our bracket in place.With everything tight, were now ready to load our bike. more

We'll loosen up the Allen bolts on the rear bracket, as well as the Allen bolts at the head of the carrier, to bring both brackets around the underside of the front and rear crossbar. Once we've positioned the brackets over the crossbars, we'll use the Allen key to tighten down the Allen bolts to secure our Thule Domestique to our Ford Flex. Once everything's tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll undo the tray strap at the rear of the carrier and double check to make sure the skewer's loose as well. more

We'll take the front clamp and place it around our front load bar feeding the bolts through the top and tightening our bolts with an Allen key.Once we have our front clamp secured we can then move to the rear. We'll fit our clamp around the rear load bar making sure our bolts are in the proper place and then tighten with an Allen key. We'll go back to the front and install our skewer. We'll go ahead and make sure we leave it open for easier loading of our bike.We'll move to the rear and undo the rear wheel strap. more

Once we have both the clamps at the front tight we can then move to the rear of the carrier where we'll feed the U-bolt through the top of our carrier around our load bar. We'll bring our clamp up underneath our rear load bar making sure that our U-bolts go through the clamp and tighten with the wing nuts.This secures our carrier to our roof rack system. more

Once we have the front part of our carrier secured we can go ahead and replace our black plastic cover and then move to the rear. Well fit our bracket around our rear load bar, feed the bolt through, make sure our bolts are in place and tighten down with an Allen key. With our bike rack secured to our roof rack system we can then prepare to load our bike. more

Today on our 2012 Ford Fiesta we'll be test fitting the Thule Domestique Fork Mounted Bike Carrier, part number th513. For easier installation, I usually go ahead and remove the skewer and undo all the clamps. We'll set the bike carrier on top of our load bars fitting the front and rear clamps around each load bar. Once we have it into position we can then use an Allen key to tighten down the Allen bolts and secure our carrier to our roof rack system. We'll go ahead and reinstall the skewer at the front part of the carrier making sure we leave it open so its already prepared to load our bike. All we need to do to prepare to load our bike now is to undo the rear wheel strap. more
